I have been married since 1995 to a lovely kindergarten teacher named Karla. Together, we have three amazing children: Jacqueline, gymnast; Savannah, bookworm; and Lucas, pirate.
I live in Sonoma County, the heart of California's wine country, just an hour or so north of San Francisco. I am also the one person in the area who knows nothing about wine. I have been teaching high school since 1996 in a variety of subjects: English, Philosophy, Video Production, Film, and Flash Animation. I am an International Baccalaureate Film Examiner, which allows me to experience student films from all over the world each year.
I speak fluent German. I have a kilt. I attended the US Naval Academy for all of one summer, before resigning my placement. For the History Channel, I played the defense attorney for the first man to be electrocuted in the electric chair. I have climbed Mt. Whitney. I was part of the very first Project Greenlight venture; I didn't win.
